The Regulations approved by this Order further amend the Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Practitioners Registration Regulations 1967 by increasing, with effect from 31st March 1998, the fees payable for the registration and annual retention of names on, and restoration to, the Registers of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. The existing fees, which came into effect on 31st March 1996, are being increased by the following percentages:—
| Retention fees for UK members | 4.8% |
| Retention fees for overseas members | 50% |
| Retention fees for retired members | 33% |
| Registration fee | 5.5% |
| Restoration fee | 11% |
| Temporary list registration fee | 5.5% |
