In exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 2(1) and (1A) of Schedule 2 to the Education (Student Loans) Act 1990(1), the Secretary of State for Education and Employment hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Student Loans) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 1998 and shall come into force on 1st September 1998.
2. The Education (Student Loans) Regulations 1998(2) shall be amended as follows:
3. In regulation 8(5), for “£4” there shall be substituted “£4.50”.

These Regulations amend the Education (Student Loans) Regulations 1998 so as to increase the payment to be made by a lender under those Regulations to the governing body of an institution for sending a completed and certified eligibility form, from £4 to £4.50.

S.I. 1998/211, to which there is an amending instrument not relevant to these Regulations.
