Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends the Orders for the establishment and constitution of certain Special Health Authorities by providing that those bodies shall be bodies to which the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960 applies. The effect of such amendment is that, save as provided for by that Act, representatives of the press and other members of the public must be admitted to the meetings of those bodies. The Special Health Authorities concerned are: the Ashworth, Broadmoor and Rampton Hospitals; the Family Health Service Appeal Authority; the Health Education Authority; the Mental Health Act Commission; the National Blood Authority; the National Health Service Supplies Authority and the United Kingdom Transplant Support Service Authority.
