16.—(1) This regulation applies to any office holder who is appointed to qualifying judicial office on or after the appointed day who previously held the office of Lord Chancellor.
(2) For the purposes of these Regulations—
(a)the service by the office holder as Lord Chancellor shall be treated as if it were service by him in a last existing scheme; and
(b)the period of notional service of the office holder in respect of the office of Lord Chancellor shall be his actual period or periods of service in that office.
(3) Where an office holder had service in qualifying judicial office prior to his appointment as Lord Chancellor and is subsequently re-appointed to a qualifying judicial office under Part I—
(a)the service credit in respect of the previous office or offices shall be calculated in accordance with the Transfer Regulations; and
(b)for the purpose of calculating his contributions credit, service in such office or offices shall be treated as if it were service in a last existing scheme.
