The Haverfordwest to Milford Haven Trunk Road (A4076) (Victoria Bridge, Milford Haven Improvement) Order 1998

The Secretary of State for Wales makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by section 10 of the Highways Act 1980(1) and of all other enabling powers:—

1.  The new highway which the Secretary of State proposes to construct along the route described in Schedule 1 to this Order shall become a trunk road as from the date when this Order comes into force.

2.  The centre line of the new trunk road is indicated by a heavy black line on the deposited plan.

3.  The length of trunk road described in Schedule 2 to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be a trunk road and shall become an unclassified road as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the County Council of Pembrokeshire that the new trunk road is open for through traffic.

4.  In this Order:—

all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;

(i) “the deposited plan”	means the plan numbered HA10/2 WO128 marked the Haverfordwest to Milford Haven Trunk Road (A4076) (Victoria Bridge, Milford Haven Improvement) Order 1998, signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Welsh Office Repository, Curran Embankment, Cardiff;
(ii) “the new trunk road”	means the highway mentioned in Article 1 of this Order;
(iii) “the trunk road”	means the Haverfordwest to Milford Haven Trunk Road (A4076).

5.  This Order shall come into force on 30th January 1998 and may be cited as the Haverfordwest to Milford Haven Trunk Road (A4076) (Victoria Bridge, Milford Haven Improvement) Order 1998.

SCHEDULE 1 ROUTE OF THE NEW TRUNK ROAD

The route of the new trunk road is a route at Milford Haven in the County of Pembrokeshire as follows:—

a route approximately 0.19 kilometres in length, starting at a point approximately 24 metres north of the junction of the trunk road with the W2448 (St Anne’s Road) and terminating at a point approximately 13 metres northeast of the junction of the trunk road with the W254 (Milford Haven Railway Station Approach Road), including a new roundabout at its eastern end.

SCHEDULE 2 LENGTH OF TRUNK ROAD CEASING TO BE A TRUNK ROAD

The length of trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is that length of the A4076 trunk road which extends from a point approximately 12 metres east of its junction with the W2448 (St Anne’s Road) in a general northwesterly direction for a distance of 23 metres.
