The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 12 of the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government Staff Commission (Scotland) (Winding Up) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 1st April 1997.
2. The Local Government Staff Commission (Scotland), established by the Local Government Staff Commission (Scotland) Order 1994(2), are hereby wound up and their assets transferred to the Secretary of State.
3. The Local Government Staff Commission (Scotland) Order 1994 is hereby revoked.

The Local Government Staff Commission (Scotland) were established in November 1994 to deal with staffing issues arising from the reorganisation of local government in Scotland which took effect on 1st April 1996. This Order winds up the Commission on 1st April 1997 and provides for transfer of their assets to the Secretary of State. The Order which established the Commission is revoked.
