Citation, commencement and interpretation

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the M8 and M9 Special Roads (Newbridge Grade Separation) Speed Limit Regulations 1997 and shall come into force on 20th October 1997.

(2) In these Regulations–

“M8” means the M8 special road;

“M9” means the M9 special road;

“slip road” means a road which provides access to or from the M8 or the M9 as the case may be.

Speed Limit

2.  No person shall drive any vehicle at a speed exceeding–

(a)50mph on those lengths of special road described in Schedule 1 to these Regulations; or

(b)40mph on that length of special road described in Schedule 2 to these Regulations.
