Exemption of building cleaning and catering for purposes other than schools and welfare

3.—(1) The activities mentioned in paragraph (2) shall not be treated as defined activities so long as they are undertaken by the council of the borough of Harrogate at the Island Site of the Harrogate International Centre (comprising the Conference Centre, Exhibition Halls, Royal Hall and Royal Baths Assembly Rooms) during the period beginning with 1st October 1997 and ending on 31st March 1999.

(2) The activities are—

(a)cleaning of buildings; and

(b)catering (other than catering for purposes of schools and welfare).
