2. A museum or similar institution of the following description is hereby specified for the purposes of paragraph 5 (2) of the Schedule to the Firearms (Amendment) Act 1988, that is to say a museum or similar institution which is for the time being fully registered with the Museums and Galleries Commission(1).

The Museums and Galleries Commission was established in 1931 and is incorporated under Royal Charter.
