The Road Traffic Act 1991 (Commencement No.13) (Scotland) Order 1997

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 84 of the Road Traffic Act 1991(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and interpretation

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic Act 1991 (Commencement No.13) (Scotland) Order 1997.

(2) In this Order–

“the Act” means the Road Traffic Act 1991.

Commencement of certain provisions of the Act

2.  The following provisions of the Act shall come into force on the 16th June 1997, insofar as they relate to Scotland and have not already been commenced:–

(a) Section 43; and

(b) Schedule 3.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force on 16th June 1997 section 43 of, and Schedule 3 to, the Road Traffic Act 1991 insofar as they relate to Scotland and have not already been commenced. These provisions relate to the establishment of permitted parking areas and special parking areas outside London.
