Section 177 of the Broadcasting Act 1990 empowers the Secretary of State to make orders proscribing unacceptable foreign satellite services for the purposes of section 178 of that Act. This Order proscribes the foreign satellite service known as Satisfaction Club Television. Section 178 provides that various acts in support of a proscribed service shall be criminal offences.
