Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations are made in order to correct two defects in the Dairy Produce Quotas Regulations 1997 (“the principal Regulations”).

Regulation 2(2) of these Regulations amends paragraph (2)(a) of regulation 6 of the principal Regulations by providing that, where a purchaser has had his purchaser quota increased by virtue of any transaction or conversion of quota referred to in paragraph (2) of regulation 6 of the principal Regulations, he shall submit to the Intervention Board, by the latter of 21st May 1997 and the date 28 days after such a transaction or conversion, a statement setting out the particulars of the transaction or conversion.

Regulation 2(3) of these Regulations amends paragraph (1) of regulation 11 of the principal Regulations by providing that an application for the transfer of quota without transfer of land, within the meaning of paragraph (1) of regulation 11 of the principal Regulations, shall be submitted to the Intervention Board for approval by the latter of 8th May 1997 and the date ten working days before the intended date of such transfer.
