The Sheffield Development Corporation (Dissolution) Order 1997

Coming into force

The Secretary of State for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 166 of the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, having consulted the council of the City of Sheffield, hereby makes the following Order—

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Sheffield Development Corporation (Dissolution) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 1st April 1997.

Dissolution of the corporation

2.  The Sheffield Development Corporation shall be dissolved on 1st July 1997.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

By virtue of section 166(3) of the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980, on the coming into force of this Order the Sheffield Development Corporation will cease to act except for the purpose of preparing its final accounts and report and winding up its affairs. The corporation will be dissolved on 1st July 1997.
