URBAN DEVELOPMENT

The Central Manchester Development Corporation (Dissolution) Order 1996

Coming into force

1st April 1996

The Secretary of State for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 166 of the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, having consulted the councils of the City of Manchester and the Metropolitan Borough of Trafford, hereby makes the following Order—

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Central Manchester Development Corporation (Dissolution) Order 1996 and shall come into force on 1st April 1996.

Dissolution of the corporation

2.  The Central Manchester Development Corporation shall be dissolved on 1st July 1996.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

By virtue of section 166(3) of the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980, on the coming into force of this Order the Central Manchester Development Corporation will cease to act except for the purpose of preparing its final accounts and report and winding up its affairs. The corporation will be dissolved on 1st July 1996.
