The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Secretary of State for Scotland and the Secretary of State for Wales, acting jointly, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 1 of the Animal Health Act 1981(1), and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Markets, Sales and Lairs (Amendment) Order 1996 and shall come into force on 23rd January 1997.
2. Paragraphs (1)(b) and (2) of article 2 of the Markets, Sales and Lairs Order of 1925(2) are hereby revoked.

This Order amends the Markets, Sales and Lairs Order of 1925. It removes the requirement in article 2 of that Order for the use of a lair to be authorised by a licence.
