Rules for calculation of contributions

3.—(1) In relation to financial years beginning on or after 1st April 1997, in Schedule 1—

(a)in paragraph 1(4), for “1996” there is substituted “1997”;

(b)in paragraph 4(4), for “1996 is £76,867,000” there is substituted “1997 is £77,751,000”;

(c)for the Table in Part II there is substituted—

(2) In relation to the financial year beginning on 1st April 1997, paragraph 4(1) of Schedule 1 has effect as if—

(a)at the end of the formula there were inserted “+P”, and

(b)at the end there were added—

  • P is the amount of the reasonable costs, if any, incurred by the authority in respect of changes to their computer programs to give effect to the Non-Domestic Rating (Chargeable Amounts for Small Hereditaments) Regulations 1996(1), provided that, if the amount of such costs exceeds £3,000, P is £3,000.;
