Amendment of principal Regulations

2.—(1) In Part 1 of Schedule 1 to the principal Regulations the following paragraph is inserted after paragraph 3—

Education (Schools) Act 1992 (c. 38)

3A.  Section 9 of the Education (Schools) Act 1992(1) applies in relation to units as if they were schools mentioned in subsection (3) of that section..

(2) In Part II of Schedule 1 to the principal Regulations for paragraphs 7 and 8 there are substituted the following paragraphs—

7.  Parts I and II of the Education (School Inspection) (Wales) (No. 2) Regulations 1993(2) apply in relation to a unit with the modification that in regulation 4 for paragraph (a) there is substituted the following paragraph

(a)on or after 1st September 1996 but before 1st August 2001;.

8.  Parts I and II of the Education (School Inspection) (No. 2) Regulations 1993(3) apply in relation to a unit with the modification that in regulation 4 for paragraph (a) there is substituted the following paragraph—

(a)on or after 1st September 1996 but before 1st August 2000;.
