This Order appoints 30th May 1996 as the day on which Chapter III and Chapter IV of Part VI of the Merchant Shipping Act 1995 come into force, and Schedule 4 to the Act ceases to have effect.

The day appointed for the purposes of sections 171(1) and 182(1) of the Merchant Shipping Act 1995 is 30th May 1996.
