Regulation 8

SCHEDULE 2

1.  In the definition of “attendance record” in regulation 3(1) (interpretation) and in paragraph 4(4) of Schedule 1 (information about individual pupils) there shall be substituted for the reference to “the Pupils' Registration Regulations 1956” a reference to “the Education (Pupil Registration) Regulations 1995”(1).

2.  In regulation 3(1)—

(a)for the definition of “the 1993 (Key Stage 1) Order” there shall be substituted the following definition “ “the 1995 (Key Stage 1) Order” means the Education (National Curriculum) (Assessment Arrangements for the Core Subjects) (Key Stage 1) (England) Order 1995;”(2);

(b)for the definition of “the 1994 (Key Stage 2) Order” there shall be substituted the following definition “ “the 1995 (Key Stage 2) Order” means the Education (National Curriculum) (Assessment Arrangements for the Core Subjects) (Key Stage 2) (England) Order 1995;”(3); and

(c)for the definition of “the 1995 (Key Stage 3) Order” there shall be substituted the following definition “ “the 1995 (Key Stage 3) Order” means the Education (National Curriculum) (Assessment Arrangements for the Core Subjects) (Key Stage 3) (England) Order 1995;”.(4).

3.  In regulation 3(2) there shall be substituted for the reference to “section 7 of the Education Act 1981” a reference to “section 168 of the Education Act 1993” .

4.  In paragraph 5(3) of Schedule 1 there shall be substituted for the words “in accordance” to the end of the paragraph the words set out below:

on the following basis:

GCE ‘A’ level: grade A=10 points;

grade B=8 points; grade C=6 points;

grade D=4 points; and grade E=2 points.

GCE ‘AS’: grade A=5 points;

grade B=4 points; grade C=3 points;

grade D=2 points; and grade E=1 point..

5.  For references wherever they appear to the articles and orders referred to in column (1) of the table below there shall be substituted a reference to the article or order set out opposite thereto in column (2).
