Her Majesty, in pursuance of sections 25(6) and 28(3) of the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act 1989(1), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act 1984 (Jersey) (Revocation) Order 1996 and shall come into force on 1st July 1996.

2.  The Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act 1984 (Jersey) Order 1984(2)is hereby revoked.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order revokes the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act 1984 (Jersey) Order 1984, which extended that Act to Jersey with exceptions, adaptions and modifications. A Jersey law corresponding to the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act 1989, which has not been extended to Jersey, is intended to come into force on the same day as this Order.
