Amendment of the Beef (Emergency Control) Order 1996
2.—(1) The Beef (Emergency Control) Order 1996(1) shall be amended in accordance with the following paragraphs.
(2) In article 2, the existing paragraph shall be numbered paragraph (1) and the following new paragraph shall be inserted —
“(2) Paragraph (1) above shall not apply to meat from a bovine animal slaughtered in any of the countries specified in the Schedule to this Order.”.
(3) The following schedule shall be added—
Article 2(2)
“SCHEDULECOUNTRIES EXEMPTED FROM ARTICLE 2(1)
Argentina
Australia
Botswana
Brazil
Mauritius
Namibia
New Zealand
Paraguay
Poland
South Africa
Swaziland
Uruguay
United States of America
Zimbabwe.”
