18.  After note 27, insert—

27A.  Where two or more periods of incapacity are separated by a break or breaks each of not more than 56 days, those periods are treated as one continuous period of incapacity.

27B.  A person is terminally ill if he suffers from a progressive disease and his death in consequence of that disease can reasonably be expected within 6 months.Where two or more periods of incapacity are separated by a break or breaks each of not more than 56 days, those periods are treated as one continuous period of incapacity..
