The Council of the City of Manchester make this Scheme in exercise of their powers under sections 16 & 17 of the Highways Act 1980 and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf:
1. The Council are authorised to provide along the route described in the Schedule to this Scheme a special road for the use of traffic of Classes I and II of the classes of traffic set out in Schedule 4 to the Highways Act 1980 as amended.
2. The centre line of the special road is indicated by a heavy black line on the deposited plan.
3. In this Scheme:—
| “the Council” | means the Council of the City of Manchester |
| “the deposited plan” | means the plan numbered A1/5552/463/963 marked “The City of Manchester (Mancunian Way A635(M) and A57(M) Mancunian Way Slip Roads) Special Road Scheme 1992”sealed with the Common Seal of the Council and deposited at the offices of the Council at the Town Hall Manchester. A certified copy is also deposited at the Department of Transport |
| “the special road” | means the special road mentioned in Article 1 of this Scheme |
4. The Scheme may be cited as “The City of Manchester (Mancunian Way A635(M) and A57(M) Mancunian Way Slip Roads) Special Road Scheme 1992”.
