This Order further amends the Motor Vehicles (Authorisation of Special Types) General Order 1979.
The maximum permitted overall width of certain motor vehicles constructed or adapted for use as grass cutters or hedge trimmers and which are authorised for use on roads, notwithstanding that they do not comply in all respects with the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986 (S.I. 1986/1078) (“the Construction and Use Regulations”), is increased from 2.5 metres to 2.55 metres.
Amendments are made to article 13 (agricultural motor vehicles, agricultural trailers and agricultural trailed appliances) and article 13A (agricultural motor vehicle towing an off-set agricultural trailer or trailed appliance) as a consequence of amendments made to the Construction and Use Regulations by the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) (Amendment) (No. 6) Regulations 1995 ( S.I. 1995/3051).
