SCHEDULETHE CENTRAL COMBINED FIRE SERVICES AREA ADMINISTRATION SCHEME 1995

Interpretation

2.  In this scheme, the following expressions, except where the context otherwise requires, shall have the meaning hereby respectively assigned to them, that is to say—

“the Act” means the Fire Services Act 1947(1);

“appointed day” means 1st April 1996;

“the board” means the joint board constituted in terms of this scheme;

“the Brigade” means the fire brigade at present called Central Region Fire Brigade and to be called Central Scotland Fire Brigade on and after 1st April 1996, maintained, immediately before 1st April 1996, by Central Regional Council and continued on and after that date by section 147(1) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973;

“combined area” means the combined area for fire services comprising the local government areas of Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and Stirling;

“constituent authorities” means Clackmannanshire Council, Falkirk Council and Stirling Council;

“local government area” shall be construed in accordance with section 1(2) of the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994.
