The Hallmarking (International Convention) (Amendment) Order 1995

The Secretary of State, in exercise of his powers under sections 2(1)(c) and (3), and 21(3) of the Hallmarking Act 1973(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Hallmarking (International Convention) (Amendment) Order 1995 and shall come into force on 23rd October 1995.

2.  Schedule 2 to the Hallmarking (International Convention) Order 1976(2) is hereby further amended by inserting, after the entry for Austria, the following entry:—

Explanatory Note

(This not is not part of the Order)

This Order, which is made under the Hallmarking Act 1973, further amends Schedule 2 to the Hallmarking (International Convention) Order 1976 (“the 1976 Order”) consequent upon the ratification by the Czech Republic of the Convention on the Control and Marking of Articles of Precious Metals done at Vienna, on 15th November 1972 (Cmnd. 7219). The control mark of the Prague Assay Office, Czech Republic, is added to the list of foreign Assay Office Marks in the 1976 Order.
