PART IIconditions and requirements to be observed by the undertaker

(1) The surface of the carriageway over the crossing shall be maintained in a good and even condition. The carriageway shall be approximately 6 metres wide at the crossing.

(2) The gates shall be kept constantly closed across the railway except during the time when trains passing along the railway shall have occasion to cross the road.

(3) The electric lamps referred to in paragraph (3) of Part I of this Schedule shall be lighted at all times when the gates are closed across the road during darkness, fog or falling rain or snow.
