Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

Article 3(2) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 (Commencement No. 15) Order 1994 makes provision for determining the date upon which certain provisions of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 (relating to waste management licensing) come into force for the purposes of their application to activities involving the treatment, keeping or disposal of scrap metal or motor vehicles which are to be dismantled. As respects any such activity, that date is (by virtue of the amendment to article 3(2) made by the Environmental Protection Act 1990 (Commencement No. 15) (Amendment) Order 1994) determined according to the state of affairs on 1st January 1995.

This Order further amends article 3(2) by substituting, for the references to 1st January 1995, references to 1st April 1995.
