In exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 172(2) of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 19941, I hereby make the following Order:

This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act (Commencement No. 2) Order 1994.

The provisions of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 referred to in the left—hand column of the Schedule to this Order (which relate to the matters described in the right—hand column of that Schedule) shall come into force on 9th January 1995.

This Order provides for the coming into force, on 9th January 1995, of the provisions of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 listed in the Schedule to the Order. The commencement of paragraph 41 of Schedule 9 (curfew orders) coincides with the commencement of sections 12 (curfew orders) and 13 (electronic monitoring of curfew orders) of the Criminal Justice Act 1991 (c. 53) by the Criminal Justice Act 1991 (Commencement No. 4) Order 1994 (S.I.1994/3191).

This Order has been preceded by the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 (Commencement No 1) Order 1994 (S.I.1994/2935) which extends to the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man and brings into force, on 19th December 1994, section 159(1), (2) and (4) of the 1994 Act (Backing of Warrants: Republic of Ireland).
