Her Majesty, in pursuance of the powers conferred on Her by section 1 of the United Nations Act 19461, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

Citation, commencement and extent1

This Order may be cited as the Former Yugoslavia (United Nations Sanctions) (Channel Islands) (Amendment) Order 1994 and shall come into force on 4th November 1994.

The Former Yugoslavia (United Nations Sanctions) (Channel Islands) Order 19942 shall, with respect to anything occurring before the commencement of this Order, be deemed always to have had effect as if this Order had come into force on 19th October 1994.

This Order shall extend to the Channel Islands so as to be law, respectively, in the Bailiwick of Guernsey and the Bailiwick of Jersey only.

Amendment of the Former Yugoslavia (United Nations Sanctions) (Channel Islands) Order 19942

The Former Yugoslavia (United Nations Sanctions) (Channel Islands) Order 1994 shall be amended by the insertion, after article 14, of the following article:

Miscellaneous15

Any provision of this Order which prohibits the doing of a thing except under the authority of any licence or with any permission shall not have effect in relation to any such thing done anywhere other than in the Bailiwick of Guernsey or, as the case may be, the Bailiwick of Jersey, provided that it is duly authorised.

A thing is duly authorised for the purpose of paragraph (1) above if it is done under the authority of a licence or with permission granted, in accordance with any law in force in the place where it is done (being a law substantially corresponding to the relevant provisions of this Order), by the authority competent in that behalf under that law.

This Order, made under the United Nations Act 1946 and applying only to the Bailiwick of Guernsey and the Bailiwick of Jersey, amends the Former Yugoslavia (United Nations Sanctions) (Channel Islands) Order 1994, with effect from the date of coming into force of that Order.
