Amendment of Order

2.  In Schedule 4 to the Education Act 1993 (Commencement No.5 and Transitional Provisions) Order 1994(1)—

(a)in paragraph 2(4)(b), after “statement of” there shall be inserted “special”;

(b)in paragraph 6(2)(b), “1981” shall be omitted; and

(c)for paragraph 7(1) there shall be substituted—

7.(1) This paragraph applies where before 1st September 1994 a local education authority inform the parent of a child for whom they maintain a statement of special educational needs—

(a)in pursuance of section 8(5) of the 1981 Act, of any decision to amend the statement in the light of an appeal committee’s observations, or

(b)in accordance with paragraph 6(4) of Schedule 1 to the 1981 Act, of the parent’s right to appeal in consequence of any amendment made by them to the statement..
