The Police and Magistrates' Courts Act 1994 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1994

In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 94(1) and (4) of the Police and Magistrates' Courts Act 1994(1), I hereby make the following Order:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Police and Magistrates' Courts Act 1994 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1994.

2.—(1) The provisions of the Police and Magistrates' Courts Act 1994 which are listed in paragraph (2) below shall come into force on 23rd August 1994.

(2) The provisions referred to in paragraph (1) above are—

(a) Part III (Police (Northern Ireland));

(b) section 93 (repeals) so far as it relates to the entries referred to in sub-paragraph (c) below; and

(c) in Part I of Schedule 9 (repeals), the entries in respect of the Police Act (Northern Ireland) 1970(2).

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force Part III of the Police and Magistrates' Courts Act 1994, which concerns the making of regulations for the administration and conditions of service of members of the Royal Ulster Constabulary and the Royal Ulster Constabulary Reserve, on 23rd August 1994.
