The M27 South Coast Motorway (Ower– Chilworth Section) Connecting Roads Scheme 1970 (Variation) Scheme 1994

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Scheme in exercise of powers conferred by sections 16, 17, 19 and 326(7) and (8) of the Highways Act 1980(1) and now vested in him(2), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf:–

1.  This Scheme may be cited as the M27 South Coast Motorway (Ower–Chilworth Section) Connecting Roads Scheme 1970 (Variation) Scheme 1994 and shall come into force on 16th September 1994.

2.  The M27 South Coast Motorway (Ower–Chilworth Section) Connecting Roads Scheme 1970(3) is hereby varied by deletion of the reference letter “A” from line 5 in paragraph 1 of the Schedule; and the heavy black line on site plan numbered 1 (within the meaning of that Scheme) which is given the reference letter “A” together with that reference letter and associated markings on that plan shall be disregarded.

Explanatory Note

(This note does not form part of the Scheme)

Under the provisions of section 326(7) and (8) of the Highways Act 1980 the length of special road deleted from the M27 South Coast Motorway (Ower– Chilworth Section) Connecting Roads Scheme 1970 continues to be a trunk road as from the date on which the variation scheme comes into force.
