Specifications of the viaduct over the Aire and Calder Navigation and the River Aire to the south of the City of Leeds Metropolitan District in the County of West Yorkshire. Length Total length between abutments not less than 251 metres. 1 No. fixed span of not less than 41 metres 1 No. fixed span of not less than 76 metres (navigation span) 1 No. fixed span of not less than 28 metres 1 No. fixed span of not less than 69 metres (River Aire span) 1 No. fixed span of not less than 37 metres Headroom 13.5 metres minimum headroom above statutory water level above canal fairway. Realignment of the Canal This would have the effect of diverting the southern bank of the canal southwards by a maximum distance of 6 metres and the northern bank of the canal southwards by a maximum distance of 6 metres. The existing waterway width of 35 metres would be increased to a minimum of 40 metres. Construction Composite steel girder and reinforced concrete deck on reinforced concrete piers.
