In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Secretary of State by section 24(1) of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975(1) the Secretary of State for Education, as respects England, and the Secretary of State for Wales, as respects Wales, hereby make the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Further and Higher Education Act 1992 (Consequential Amendments) Order 1993 and shall come into force on 1st April 1993.

Amendment of the Sex Discrimination (Designated Educational Establishments) Order 1975

2.  The Sex Discrimination (Designated Educational Establishments) Order 1975(2) is amended by the omission in the Schedule of Part I (polytechnics) and Section A of Part II (establishments in respect of which grants in aid of university education are payable out of money provided by Parliament).

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order makes amendments to the Sex Discrimination (Designated Educational Establishments) Order 1975 which are consequential upon the Further and Higher Education Act 1992.
