This Order amends The Designation of Institutions of Higher Education (Scotland) Order 1992 which designates certain institutions as eligible to receive support from funds administered by the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council. The list of institutions in the Order is amended to take account of (1) the changes of name of Napier Polytechnic of Edinburgh, Paisley College of Technology and The Robert Gordon Institute of Technology to Napier University, University of Paisley and The Robert Gordon University respectively, and (2) the merger of Glasgow Polytechnic and The Queen’s College, Glasgow, to form a new institution, Glasgow Caledonian University.
