Amendment of the principal Order

2.  In Article 2 of the Designation of Institutions of Higher Education (Scotland) Order 1992((1))—

(a)the present text shall be renumbered as paragraph (1) of the Article;

(b)in the list of institutions in paragraph (1) the following names shall be deleted:—

  • Glasgow Polytechnic

  • Napier Polytechnic of Edinburgh

  • Paisley College of Technology

  • The Queen’s College, Glasgow

  • The Robert Gordon Institute of Technology;

(c)in that list (which is in alphabetical order) the following names shall be inserted at the appropriate places:—

  • Glasgow Caledonian University

  • Napier University

  • The Robert Gordon University

  • University of Paisley; and

(d)after paragraph (1) there shall be added the following paragraph:—

“(2) The designation of an institution by paragraph (1) of this Article shallremain in effect notwithstanding any change of name of the institution sodesignated.”.
