Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order is made to correct defects in the Schedule to the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Fees) (No. 2) Order 1992 and is being issued free of charge to all known recipients of that Order. The defects were:

(a)the inclusion of references to section 5 of the Young Persons (Employment) Act 1938 and to section 35(1) of the Shops Act 1950 which provisions were repealed from 16th January 1990 by section 29(4) of, and Schedule 7 to, the Employment Act 1989 and

(b)the inclusion of a reference to section 160(2) of the Social Security Act 1975 which provision was repealed from 1 July 1992 by section 3 of, and Schedule 1 to, the Social Security (Consequential Provisions) Act 1992. It was replaced by section 124(3) of the Social Security (Administration) Act 1992. The fees payable under that section are increased by this Order from 1st April 1993.
