A route approximately 21 kilometres in length starting at a point on the trunk road 350 metres south of its existing junction with the Great North Road at Alconbury in the District of Huntingdon in the County of Cambridgeshire following the route of the trunk road to a point 740 metres north of the centre of the existing Norman Cross roundabout, continuing in a generally northerly direction slightly to the west of the trunk road to a point 1130 metres north of the centre of the existing Norman Cross roundabout, then following the route of the trunk road and ending at a point 280 metres north of the centre of the existing Fletton Parkway Interchange.
