The European Communities (Designation) (No. 3) Order 1993

Supersession of earlier designations

3.—(1) The designation which provides that the Secretary of State and any Northern Ireland department shall be designated in relation to consumer protection shall supersede the designations in relation to specific areas of consumer protection in the following orders:

(a)the European Communities (Designation) Order 1972(1),

(b)the European Communities (Designation) Order 1986(2),

(c)the European Communities (Designation) (No. 2) Order 1988(3), and

(d)the European Communities (Designation) (No. 2) Order 1991(4).

(2) The designation which provides that the Secretary of State and any Northern Ireland department shall be designated in relation to the equal pay for men and women and to equal treatment for men and women in matters of employment, self-employment and vocational training shall supersede the designation in relation to discrimination between men and women as regards terms and conditions of employment in the European Communities (Designation) (No. 3) Order 1982(5).

(3) The designation which provides that the Secretary of State and any Northern Ireland department shall be designated in relation to the regulation and control of the transit, import and export of waste (including recyclable materials) shall supersede the designation in relation to waste which is dangerous or which requires the taking of special precautions in the European Communities (Designation) (No. 3) Order 1985(6).

(4) The designation which provides that the Secretary of State shall be designated in relation to air transport shall supersede the designation in relation to the licensing of air carriers established in the Community, access by such carriers to intra-community air routes, and fares and rates for air services for carriage wholly within the Community, in the European Communities (Designation) (No. 2) Order 1992(7).
