It is an offence under section 50 of the Agriculture (Scotland) Act 1948 as amended by section 10 of the Pests Act 1954 to use for the purpose of killing or taking animals any spring trap other than one of the type and kind approved by the Secretary of State. This Order adds the Kania Trap 2000 to those traps already approved in the Spring Traps Approval (Scotland) Order 1975 and specifies the animals for which and the circumstances in which it may be used.
