The A11 Trunk Road (Stump Cross to A505 Junction Improvement) (Detrunking) Order 1993

1.  The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a classified road as from a date to be specified in a notice given by the Secretary of State to the County Council of Cambridgeshire who will become the highway authority responsible for that length. The date specified will be the date on which the new trunk roads are opened for through traffic.

2.  In this Order:

(a) all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;

(b) (i) “classified road”

as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is not a principal road for the purposes of enactments or instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads but is a classified road for the purpose of every enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State and which does not specifically refer to their classification as principal roads;

(ii)“the deposited plan”

means the plan numbered HA10/2E/331 marked “The A11 Trunk Road (Stump Cross to A505 Junction Improvement) (Detrunking) Order 1993”, signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY;

(iii)“the trunk road”

means the A11 Trunk Road;

(iv)“the new trunk roads”

means the trunk roads to be constructed by the Secretary of State in pursuance of the A11 Trunk Road (Stump Cross to A505 Junction Improve-ment) Slip Roads Order 1993.

3.  This Order shall come into force on 23rd June 1993 and may be cited as the A11 Trunk Road (Stump Cross to A505 Junction Improvement) (Detrunking) Order 1993.
