The Finance (No. 2) Act 1992 (Commencement No. 5) Order 1993

The Commissioners of Customs and Excise, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 1(8) and 3(2) of the Finance (No. 2) Act 1992(1) and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Finance (No. 2) Act 1992 (Commencement No. 5) Order 1993.

2.  The provisions of the Finance (No. 2) Act 1992 (“the Act”) specified in the first column of the Schedule to this Order shall, insofar as they are not already in force, come into force on 1st June 1993.

Explanatory Note

This Order brings into force on 1 June 1993 the remaining provisions of sections 1 and 3 of, and Schedules 1 and 2 to the Finance (No. 2) Act 1992 which provide for powers to fix the excise duty point and for the protection of revenues derived from excise duties.
