Training in emergency procedures

15.—(1) The owner of a vessel to which this regulation applies shall—

(a)establish procedures which each of—

(i)the person having command of the vessel; and

(ii)any other person or persons employed or engaged in any capacity on board the vessel;

is to observe in the event of an emergency affecting the vessel and, in particular, the action to be taken by persons other than the person having command of the vessel for the purpose of assisting passengers; and

(b)ensure that each of those persons has received on-board training in the procedures to be observed by that person in such an event.

(2) A person who contravenes a requirement of paragraph (1) above shall be guilty of an offence and liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding level 4 on the standard scale.
