Explanatory Note

This Order gives effect to the penalty fares provisions contained in sections 4 to 9 of the British Railways (Penalty Fares) Act 1989, with respect to the train services specified in the Schedule, as from 22nd February 1993.
This Order covers the line specified in Part II of the Schedule to the British Railways (Penalty Fares) Act 1989 (Activating No. 5) Order 1992. Article 2(3)(b) of, and Part II of the Schedule to, that Order are therefore revoked as spent.
