The Secretary of State for Transport, being a Minister designated(1) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972(2) in relation to measures relating to fares and rates for air services for carriage wholly within the Community, in exercise of the powers conferred by that section hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Air Fares (Amendment) Regulations 1993 and shall come into force on 19th February 1993.
2. In regulation 2(1) of the Air Fares Regulations 1992(3) for the words from “and” to the end there shall be substituted the following—
““the Council Regulation” means the Council Regulation (EEC) No 2409/92 on fares and rates for air services(4); and
“United Kingdom national” has the same meaning as in section 105(1) of the Civil Aviation Act 1982(5).”.
