Title and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Food Protection (Emergency Prohibitions) (Dioxins) (England) Order 1992 and shall come into force on 20th March 1992.

Designated circumstances

2.  In the opinion of the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, circumstances exist whereby creatures and crops in the area designated in article 3 below may be contaminated by dioxins or other poisonous substances and are likely to create a hazard to human health if food derived from them is consumed.

Designated area

3.  The area described in the Schedule to this Order is hereby designated for the purposes of Part I of the Food and Environment Protection Act 1985.

Prohibitions

4.—(1) No person shall cause or permit the breeding in the designated area of any creature from which food could be derived.

(2) No person shall move into or out of the designated area any creature from which food could be derived.

(3) No person shall move out of the designated area—

(a)any food derived from a creature which is or has been in the designated area;

(b)any thing from which food could be derived, which is derived from a creature which is or has been in the designated area;

(c)any food derived from any crop grown in the designated area;

(d)any thing from which food could be derived, which is derived from any crop grown in the designated area.
