Amendment of Regulations

3.  In regulation 2(1) (interpretation)—

(a) after the definition of “cow” there shall be inserted—

““the Directive” means Council Directive 88/407/EEC(1) laying down the animal health requirements applicable to intra-Community trade in and imports of deep-frozen semen of domestic animals of the bovine species;”;

(b) after the definition of “the Minister” there shall be inserted—

““official veterinarian” means a veterinary inspector appointed by the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food under the Animal Health Act 1981(2);”.
