The Submarine Pipe-lines (Designated Owners) (No. 4) Order 1992

Coming into force—

24th March 1992

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 33(3) of the Petroleum and Submarine Pipe-lines Act 1975(1) (hereinafter referred to as “the Act”) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and after giving that person affected an opportunity of being heard with respect to the matter, hereby makes the following Order:—

1.  This Order may be cited as the Submarine Pipe-lines (Designated Owners) (No. 4) Order 1992 and shall come into force on 24th March 1992.

2.  For the purposes of Part III of the Act, B.P. Exploration Operating Company Limited whose registered office is situated at D'Arcy House, 146 Queen Victoria Street, London EC4V 4BY, is hereby designated as the owner of the pipe-lines described in Part I of the Schedule hereto and the owner of so much of the pipe-line described in Part II of the Schedule as is a controlled pipe-line.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order designates BP Exploration Operating Company Limited as the owner of the pipe-lines described in Parts I and II of the Schedule. In the case of the pipe-line specified in Part II, the designation applies only to those parts which are in controlled waters, that is the territorial sea and areas designated under the Continental Shelf Act1964 (c. 29).

The pipe-lines referred to in Part I of the Schedule lie above and between the Cleeton and Ravenspurn gasfields, situated to the east of the coast of Humberside. The pipe-line referred to in Part II lies between the Cleeton gasfield and the natural gas terminal at Dimlington in the County of Humberside.
