Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend the Assured and Protected Tenancies (Lettings to Students) Regulations 1988 by substituting a new Schedule 2. Four further bodies are specified under paragraph 8 of Schedule 1 to the Housing Act 1988: International Lutheran Student Centre, St Brigid’s House Limited, International Students Club (Church of England) Limited, and International House Association Trust.

A tenancy granted by such a body to a student at an educational institution specified in the 1988 Regulations is not an assured tenancy for the purposes of the 1988 Act.
